A sculpture for the Discovery Children’s Museum at the Smith Center in Las Vegas, NV.
Finished in 2012, it took two months to complete the maquette and 9 Ft. tall children. Mold
making, paint & installation by YESCO.
A scaled maquette was created from clay for client approval, and then used as a reference to sculpt the 9 ft. tall children from Styrofoam. Some of the face and hand details were sculpted from clay. After completion of sculpting, a gypsum mold was created and fiber glass parts cast. A metal armature was fit inside the fiber glass forms for structure and attachment points to the building. Finally, a durable automotive finish was applied. Installation by YESCO.
